Alex first discovered and purchased Bitcoin in 2010, before proceeding to lose his wallet the next year. He fell down the crypto rabbit hole again in 2015 and joined the space full time in 2018. Prior to Baboon, Alex was at a single family office helping manage both traditional and crypto portfolios. Before that Alex helped co-found a crypto OTC desk, Llama Brothers, and acted as their CSO, while simultaneously managing a crypto book for a private investment company that seeded Llama Brothers. Prior to diving head first into the crypto space, Alex spent the better half of the past decade in various traditional finance roles, ranging from sell-side equity research and broking to co-managing a multi-strategy hedge fund. Alex started his career in Singapore before moving to Hong Kong in 2015. He enjoys torturously staring at charts and occasionally lifting some very heavy weights.
