About

Dave Samuel has been building companies since before most people had internet access. He started young — delivering newspapers at nine, launching Thriller Designs in fifth grade, and running Sounds Unlimited, a mobile DJ business, for over a decade while growing up in Maine. After attending MIT and a brief stint at Oracle, Dave co-founded Spinner in 1995, the first internet music radio platform. AOL acquired Spinner for $320 million in 1999. He later co-founded Crackle, an early internet video platform acquired by Sony for $80 million in 2006. In 2010, Dave co-founded Freestyle Capital when seed-stage venture barely existed as a category.
