Graduated from the Faculty of Law at the University of Tokyo and from Hiroshima University Senior High School; from Hiroshima Prefecture. Joined the Bank of Japan in 1968, and after serving as Head of the New York Office, Director-General of the Operations Bureau, Nagoya Branch Manager and others, held positions including President and Representative Director and Chairman and Representative Director of Japan Credit Rating Agency (JCR, now Rating and Investment Information, Inc.). In addition to being a director of the company, his current position is Executive Advisor at Endeavor United Inc.
