About

Joined a Japanese securities company in 1989 and worked as a trader for institutional investors, managing equities, bonds and derivatives, and then in the corporate department handled fundraising for listed companies and served as lead underwriter for IPOs. From 1997 he worked at foreign investment banks including Merrill Lynch Japan Securities, Morgan Stanley Securities and Deutsche Securities, consistently engaged in corporate fundraising and M&A advisory. His main deals include serving as lead underwriter for the IPOs of Fuji Television, NTT Docomo, Dentsu and SKY Perfect JSAT, and fundraising and restructuring/M&A for the NTT Group and for the oil, broadcasting, mass retail, aviation and electric power industries and trading companies. He became independent in 2018 and, drawing on his experience at investment banks, provides advice on corporate capital policy and management. He has also explored multi-strategy investment approaches that handle several different financial products at once, as well as the price mechanisms of musical instruments, paintings and the like. In September 2022 he established Inno Associates Co., Ltd. (イノー・アソシエイツ), backed by personal investments from chairmen, presidents and advisors in the business world with whom he had long been on close terms. It continuously holds business conferences as a forum for exchanging views with domestic and overseas investors. In May 2024 he formed a fund of JPY 10 billion scale aimed at exploring new possibilities in retail, and as head of its management he invests in and advises listed companies and venture companies.
