About

After graduating from the Faculty of Economics at the University of Tokyo in 2003, he joined the Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry. He left METI in 2008, and after serving as Vice President of a distribution company, earned an MBA from Columbia University in 2010. After working as a manager at McKinsey & Company, he joined UTEC in August 2014. Head of the Planning Department of the Japan Venture Capital Association (JVCA). At METI he worked on drafting legislation related to SME finance and recycling and on the Exploratory IT Human Resources Project (Mitou Software Project); at McKinsey & Company he worked on projects for companies in industries such as pharmaceuticals, medical devices, automotive, high-tech, consumer goods and financial institutions, mainly in Japan, Southeast Asia and Europe. He has served as an outside auditor (kansayaku) of ACSL Ltd. (listed on the Tokyo Stock Exchange Mothers market in December 2018*: 6232) and Repertoire Genesis Inc. (acquired by Eurofins Scientific SE), among others, and as an outside director of Neural Pocket Inc. (listed on the TSE Mothers market in August 2020*: 4056), JDSC Inc. (listed on the TSE Mothers market in December 2021*: 4418), Finatext Holdings Ltd. (listed on the TSE Mothers market in December 2021*: 4419), Institution for a Global Society Inc. (listed on the TSE Mothers market in December 2021*: 4265) and ELEMENTS Inc. (listed on the TSE Growth market in December 2022: 5246), among others.
