John is a software engineer and business leader who is focused on combining technology and entrepreneurship to generate lasting positive impact. He sits as a Director on the boards of multiple tech companies across Africa, and is the cofounder, General Partner, and a Limited Partner at Enza Capital. John is a renowned angel investor with deep experience building and managing businesses. He was previously CEO and Chairman of Metaswitch Networks, which raised money from Fransisco Partners and Sequoia Capital, and subsequently sold to Microsoft in 2020. John is a Fellow of the Royal Academy of Engineering where he helped establish and is a Judge for the Africa Prize, and he is Chairman of both the Raspberry Pi Foundation and What3Words in the UK.
