About
Prior to collaborating with Redpoint eventures, Manoel Lemos served as Chief Digital Officer at Grupo Abril, the second largest media conglomerate in Brazil. Earlier in his career, he worked as a software engineer, solution architect, and internet specialist for local businesses, the Brazilian government and the European community. As an entrepreneur, Manoel founded and developed BlogBlogs, the world’s largest Portuguese blog indexer, which was bought by Abril/Naspers, giving rise to WebCo, Brazil’s first Web 2.0 product development startup, with a culture strongly inspired by Silicon Valley. Manoel led WebCo as its founder and CEO. Prior to BlogBlogs, Manoel was the CTO of Hypercom Brazil, a leading provider of payment solutions for the credit card and banking industries.

- Manoel holds a bachelor’s degree in Computer Science from Unicamp, where he worked as a researcher for several years and started a master’s degree in high-performance computing. He holds an ACE from the Sloan Business School at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) and has attended executive education programs in media strategy at Harvard Business School and venture investment at the Hass Business School at the University of California, Berkeley.Source (opens in a new tab)
