About
Matt McAviney is a Partner in Monograph’s San Francisco office. Prior to joining Monograph, Matt spent the previous 10+ years at New Enterprise Associates (NEA) and F-Prime Capital where he focused on company formation and early-stage investing across biopharma. His work spanned multiple therapeutic areas and modalities, with an emphasis on backing platform-driven and asset-centric approaches, and working closely with founders on strategy, clinical development, and financing. He has been involved in the formation and development of more than 30 biotechnology companies. Notable examples include Ouro Medicines, Escient Pharmaceuticals (acquired by Incyte), Denali Therapeutics (DNLI), Apellis Pharmaceuticals (APLS), Mirum Pharmaceuticals (MIRM), Semma Therapeutics (acquired by Vertex), Cogent Biosciences (COGT), and Modis Therapeutics (acquired by Zogenix).
