Thomas Hyland is an active investor and advisor in India and Southeast Asia and was the co-founder of Aspada, an early-stage, impact-focused, venture capital fund based in Bangalore backing innovative models in agricultural supply chains and logistics, financial services, healthcare and education. Anchored by the Soros Economic Development Fund, Aspada built on the success of the earlier SONG Fund, an early-stage Indian fund anchored by the Soros Economic Development Fund, the Omidyar Network and Google. Aspada was sold to the LGT Group of Liechtenstein in late 2019 where it now anchors LGTs global sustainable fund effort, Lightrock.
