Thomas R. Mather, MD, is a board-certified ophthalmologist, oculoplastic surgeon, entrepreneur and investor with more than 35 years of experience at the intersection of clinical ophthalmology and emerging medical technologies. Throughout his career, Dr. Mather has worked with ophthalmic companies as an investor, advisor, board member and clinical strategist. His experience includes Encore Vision, which was acquired by Novartis, as well as Allysta Therapeutics, Premark Pharma and BlinkCNS. He serves as Chief Medical Officer and a board member of MCAL Therapeutics, which is developing a novel synthetic lipid technology for dry eye disease and other ocular indications.
