W. Brett Wilson is a career investment banker - as a co-founder of one of Canada’s leading energy focused investment banks - FirstEnergy Capital Corp. He evolved to merchant banking for his own account though his family office oriented Prairie Merchant Corp. He investment focus is wide - from an investment in the Nashville Predators - to farmland in Saskatchewan - from cannabis opportunities across North America to gas fired power generation in Alberta - from restaurants in Calgary and the Yukon to real estate across Western Canada - the range is large. His passion for supporting communities where he invests is well known and recognized through receipt of the Order of Canada (2011) and the Saskatchewan Order of Merit (2012) along with numerous other awards and honorary degrees.
