Chang Guang Satellite Technology Co., Ltd. was established on December 1, 2014 and is China's first commercial remote sensing satellite company. The company was funded by the Jilin Provincial Government, the Changchun Institute of Optics, Fine Mechanics and Physics of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, private capital and key technical personnel, with a total registered capital of RMB 2.915 billion. On October 7, 2015, the "Jilin-1" satellite constellation independently developed by the company was successfully launched, pioneering the application of commercial satellites in China and also creating the history of a single R&D team successfully launching four satellites with one rocket. The "Jilin-1" satellites are China's first independently developed commercial high-resolution remote sensing satellite, China's first independently developed satellite launched under the name of a province, the world's first meter-level high-definition color video satellite, and China's first "satellite-integrated" satellite.
