Thesis is an applied AI research lab building Darwin, an autonomous research agent that designs, runs, and refines machine-learning experiments on a managed GPU cluster, using evolutionary search to hill-climb on a scientist's objective. The company is pursuing autonomous scientific discovery across biology, climate, materials, and robotics — beginning with a blind CASP17 RNA-folding attempt — and hit state-of-the-art on MLE-Bench in November 2025 on roughly $10K of compute. Founded by brothers Sergio Charles (CEO, Stanford — ex-Google X and NVIDIA) and Luigi Charles (CTO, Columbia — co-founder of Sphere).
