We believe the UMass Amherst entrepreneurial ecosystem has great untapped potential. We see faculty members in labs with a passion for better solutions and students with fresh insights on old problems. We see alumni who are exploring countless ways for making us healthier, safer, smarter and even happier. For some, their energy and ideas become launch pads for transformative commercial enterprises. Given that we are making early stage investments, we do not typically seek controlling interests in our portfolio companies or board seats.

Eligibility

Our portfolio companies are typically founded or led by UMass Amherst faculty, students or alumni.

Investing status notes

Although this largely depends on how much additional funding we raise, we anticipate making two to three new investments each year.
