Investment approach
- Thesis
- We know that at the heart of every great company is a great entrepreneur. We believe the role of the venture capitalist is to help the entrepreneur succeed by providing strategic guidance, executive recruitment, team coaching, “lessons learned” insights, customer and partner introductions, financing, and milestone oversight. Our goal is to be the first call the CEO makes for help, to celebrate a success, to ask a quick question, or to seek a sounding board. Success is rarely a straight path. Startups must iterate, often many times, to find the formula that works. Having experienced the roller coaster ride a startup undergoes ourselves, our extended team includes a set of experienced operating executives that the entrepreneurial team may leverage. Our advisory team includes executives currently leading new product development, marketing, recruiting, engineering, universities and companies. SpringRock is a syndicate-friendly firm. We have no minimum ownership percentage. We feel that ownership should be earned, and is best allocated to investors who prove their value over time. We also do not require board seats, although we accept them when an entrepreneur asks. We understand that financing rounds often come together quickly; our decision process enables timely investment decisions.Source (opens in a new tab)
